Man accuses Citibank of telephone harassment

FORT MYERS – A Lee County man claims that a bank has harassed him in an attempt to collect an alleged debt.

Michael Seaver filed a complaint on July 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Citibank, National Association alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between December 2015 and June, he was contacted several times on his cellular phone by the defendant in an attempt to collect an alleged debt. The plaintiff holds Citibank, National Association responsible because the defendants allegedly harassed plaintiff by calling him multiple times using an automatic dialing system. He alleges that he asked the defendant to stop the calls in April but that the calls have continued.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, punitive damages, actual damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Jared M. Lee of Morgan & Morgan Tampa PA in Orlando.
