MIAMI – A boutique operator has filed a suit against several websites alleging they sell counterfeit goods.

Gucci America Inc. filed a complaint on July 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against 1973collectionfakes.bid, 2016handbagsumall.com, 2016myhandbagstore.com, et al., alleging trademark infringement and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business as the result of its products being copied and sold without its authority. The plaintiff holds 1973collectionfakes.bid, 2016handbagsumall.com, 2016myhandbagstore.com, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly used online domain names to sell counterfeit copies of plaintiff's products.

The plaintiff seeks injunction against the defendant from further infringing plaintiff's trademark, transfer domain names used by the defendant, award plaintiff all profits and damages derived from the unlawful act and from cybersquatting activities, all legal fees and interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Gaffigan, Virgilio Gigante and T. Raquel Rodriguez-Albizu of Stephen M. Gaffigan PA in Fort Lauderdale.
