MIAMI – A cruise ship passenger alleges he needed knee surgery after falling on the ship.

Corey Cohen filed a complaint on July 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against NCL (Bahamas) LTD, doing business as Norwegian Cruise Line, alleging maritime negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 27, he slipped and fell on a puddle of water from a vent, causing a knee injury that needed surgery. The plaintiff holds NCL (Bahamas) LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect the condition of the air conditioning vent on its vessel to make sure that water did not accumulate below it.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Domingo C. Rodriguez of Rodriguez Law Office LLC in Miami.
