Law money 02

MIAMI – A shop foreman is suing his former Tamarac employer over allegations he was not properly compensated for his overtime work.

Vern George filed a complaint on July 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Planexhaust Corp. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between April 2009 and April 2016, he worked for 50 to 60 hours per week without being paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds Planexhaust Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay plaintiff overtime compensation at a rate of time-and-one-half for all hours worked.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks overtime payment, wages, salary, lost benefits, and other compensation; interest; liquidated damages; all legal fees; and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Charles Eiss, Lindsay M. Massillon and Nathaly Lewis of Law Offices of Charles Eiss PL in Plantation.
