Construction worker seeks recovery of allegedly unpaid overtime wages

Law money 02

FORT MYERS – A Lee County man has filed a class-action suit against his former employer alleging he was not properly paid.

Lorenzo Carruega filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on May 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against MP 3 Construction Services LLC and Jose Mendoza alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between November 2015 and February, he worked for more than 40 hours per workweek but was not paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds MP 3 Construction Services LLC and Mendoza responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime compensation to plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Bill B. Burke of Berke Law Firm P.A. in Cape Coral.
