Ecstasy passenger alleges she needed surgery after fall on cruise ship

Cruise 09

MIAMI – A passenger on the cruise ship Ecstasy alleges she was injured after slipping on liquid on a dance floor.

Jessica Redman filed a complaint on May 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Carnival Cruise Lines and Carnival Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 18, 2015, she slipped and fell violently on the dance floor of the defendant's night club, twisting her right knee. She alleges that she needed medical treatment and was diagnosed with right ACL tear of her knee, which required surgery. The plaintiff holds Carnival Cruise Lines responsible because the defendant allegedly created a hazardous condition and negligently allowed costumers to bring their drinks onto the dance floor.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for damages, plus interest and costs and any such relief to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Frank D. Butler of Frank D. Butler PA in Pinellas Park.
