Cruise 06

MIAMI – A passenger on the Carnival Victory cruise ship is suing the vessel's owners alleging she was injured by a case of soda pop.

Sandra Crocker filed a complaint on May 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Carnival Cruise Lines alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 24, 2015, while she was sitting on the Lido deck of the ship eating breakfast when a rolling cart pushed by a crew member and loaded with cases of soda suddenly and violently struck the right side of her body, causing her to sustain injures to her shoulder, neck, back, arm, wrist and hand. The plaintiff holds Carnival Cruise Lines responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to correct the dangerous conditions, failed to warn, failed to exercise reasonable care for the safety of its passengers and failed to implement a safe procedure for transporting cases of soda and other heavy items.
