TAMPA – A woman alleges she was assaulted by U.S. Marshals and that the agency has not responded to her claim for damages.

Amanda J. Sanders filed a complaint on May 2 in the Tampa Division of the Middle District of Florida against United States of America alleging that the U.S. Marshals allegedly failed to respond or adjudicate her claim.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 18, 2015, she submitted a claim for damage, injury or death form to the U.S. Marshal Service. The suit states that the claim has to be adjudicated within six months from receipt thereof and that it has not been. The claim was regarding a June 2013 incident in which U.S. Marshals allegedly assaulted her in a raid at a home looking for a criminal suspect.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for all damages, costs of this action and such other relief as the court may deem meet and proper. She is represented by Vincent M. D'Assaro of Morgan & Morgan, Tampa PA in Tampa.
