Ali Beauty 2 accused of restricting access to disabled individuals

Handicapped sign 08

MIAMI – A Broward County man alleges that a Deerfield Beach business has discriminated against him by denying safe access or accommodation to its property.

Lional Dalton filed a complaint on April 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Ali Beauty Inc., doing business as Ali Beauty 2, citing violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 29, he visited defendant's property where he encountered barriers to access the facility and was denied full and equal access and enjoyment of the goods, services and amenities. The plaintiff holds Ali Beauty 2 responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide an accessible restroom for persons with disabilities and failed to provide signage directing disabled individuals to the accessible restroom.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order requiring the defendants to alter the property to make it accessible to individuals with disabilities, an order directing defendants to evaluate its policies and procedures toward persons with disabilities, attorney's fees, costs, expenses and for such other further relief as the court may deem necessary, just and proper. He is represented by Mark D. Cohen of J & M Advocacy Group LLC in Hollywood.
