Orange County resident accuses Security Alarm Now of unpaid wages

Law money 13

ORLANDO – An alarm technician is suing his former employer over claims he was not paid overtime.

Guayronex Santiago filed a complaint on April 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against Security Alarm Now alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between March 2014 and September 2015, he did not receive overtime premiums for all extra hours he worked. The plaintiff holds Security Alarm Now responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay proper overtime compensation at a rate of time-and-one-half of his hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a work week, failed to maintain proper time records and failed to post informational posters advising employees of their rights under the FLSA.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation in the amount due to him, liquidated damages, prejudgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and expenses and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Kimberly De Arcangelis of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
