Korean company alleges Salon Supply Store sells products that infringe on patents

Patents 03

MIAMI – A Korean company is suing a Palm Beach Gardens salon equipment importer alleging patent infringement.

Seoul Viosys Co. LTD filed a complaint on March 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Salon Supply Store LLC alleging that it violated United States Patent Law.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it has suffered and will continue to suffer damages as a result of defendant's infringement until a decision is rendered in its favor. The plaintiff holds Salon Supply Store LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly directly infringed its '032, '559, '935, '988 and '207 patents, which are used for light-emitting devices.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an award for damages in an amount to be determined at trial, an order permanently enjoining defendant from marketing and importing similar products that will infringe the asserted patents and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. It is represented by Michael B. Eisenberg and Merri C. Moken of Holland & Knight LLP in New York and Brian Toth of Holland & Knight LLP in Miami.
