MIAMI – A Sunrise man is suing is former Pompano Beach employer over allegations he was not paid overtime wages.

Antoine Philistin filed a complaint on March 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against County Soda Systems Inc., alleging that the manufacturing plant violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he did not receive proper overtime premium for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours during his employment. The plaintiff holds County Soda Systems Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly filed to compensate him at the statutory rate of time-and-one-half of his regular rate for all his extra hours.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for overtime wages due and liquidated damages, attorneys' fees, costs and expenses, post-judgment interest and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Douglas E. Ede of The Madalon Law Firm in Fort Lauderdale.
