Cibo Wine Bar accused of not being accessible to disabled patrons

Disabled

MIAMI – A Fort Lauderdale restaurant is being sued by a Broward County man over allegations of disability discrimination.

Lional Dalton filed a complaint on March 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against 4100 Federal Hwy LLC and Cibo Lauderdale LLC, doing business as Cibo Wine Bar, citing alleged discrimination and failure to uphold Americans with Disabilities Act regulations.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was denied full and equal access and enjoyment of the defendants' facilities. The plaintiff holds 4100 Federal Hwy LLC and Cibo Lauderdale LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide parking spaces for persons with disabilities, failed to provide bilateral handrails on a ramp and failed to provide proper protection for the plumbing under the sink.

The plaintiff seeks the following: an order requiring defendants to alter their facilities to make them accessible to individuals with disabilities, reasonable attorney's fees and costs, and any further relief that the court may deem proper. He is represented by Jessica Kerr of J & M Advocacy Group LLC in Hollywood.
