Man seeks allegedly unpaid wages from Grove Plumbing

Paycheck

OCALA – A Marion County man is suing his former employer for allegedly unpaid back wages.

Gregory Wesselhoff filed a class-action complaint on March 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Ocala Division against Grove Plumbing Inc. and Cyrus Khonsary, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and retaliation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he did not receive wages for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week during his employment. The plaintiff holds Grove Plumbing Inc. and Khonsary responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly compensate him for extra hours worked and terminated him in 2014 in response for his complaining about his unpaid overtime.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for all damages, back pay, attorneys' fees and costs, prejudgment and post-judgment interest and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Matthew W. Birk of The Law Office of Matthew Birk LLC in Gainsville.
