Woman says mortgage lender failed to pay overtime

Overtime

MIAMI — A Broward County woman who worked as a loan processor has filed a class-action lawsuit against her former employer, claiming the company didn't pay her proper compensation for overtime.

Ana Pender is suing American Financial Network Inc., a former employer, claiming that the mortgage lender did not pay her time and a half for hours in excess of 40 per workweek when she worked for the company in Boca Raton in December 2015 and January 2016.

Pender filed suit on March 9 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, alleging that American Financial Network Inc. violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The plaintiff seeks compensation for unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, attorneys' fees and costs. She is represented by Keith M. Stern and Hazel Solis Rojas of the Law Office of Keith M. Stern, P.A. in Doral.
