Law money 09

JACKSONVILLE – A Duval County woman alleges her former employer did not pay her overtime wages in violation of federal law.

Aniko Steingruber filed a complaint on behalf of herself and all other employees similarly situated on March 4 in the U.S. District Court for Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division against Dollar Express Stores LLC, citing violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Oct. 20, 2008, and Nov. 1, 2015, she did not receive overtime compensation for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a work week. The plaintiff holds Dollar Express Stores LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime compensation of time-and-one-half of her regular rate in compliance with the FLSA.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, attorneys' fees and costs and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Mark G. Alexander and Kelly L. DeGance of Alexander DeGance Barnett in Jacksonville and Scott Thomas Fortune of Fortune Law Offices PA in Jacksonville Beach.
