MIAMI – A Georgia resident alleges she was injured in a slip-and-fall incident while aboard the Carnival Ecstasy.

Clara Ned resident filed a complaint on Feb. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Line, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 20, 2015, she slipped and violently fell near the candy store located on the ninth floor of the vessel and suffered severe and debilitating injuries. The plaintiff holds Carnival Cruise Line responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to exercise reasonable care for the safety of its passengers, failed to properly inspect or warn passengers of such hazards and failed to provide a safe walking area.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for damages suffered, loss of capacity to enjoy life, loss of earnings, loss of ability to earn money, attorneys' fees and costs, prejudgment and post-judgment interest and any other relief that the court may deem just or appropriate. She is represented by Spencer Marc Aronfeld of Aronfeld Trial Lawyers in Coral Gables.
