Royal Caribbean Cruises sued over alleged fall

Carnival

MIAMI — Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. is being sued by a man who says an automatic door on one of its ships struck him and knocked him down.

Mark Linde sued Royal Caribbean on Feb. 22 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Miami Division, claiming negligence.

Linde claims he was aboard the Legend of the Seas cruise ship on Nov. 24, 2014, when an automatic door in a passageway knocked him down, worsening a pre-existing hip injury, which has required therapy and has caused pain and limited mobility. Linde holds Royal Caribbean responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to implement reasonable care under the circumstances for the safety of its passengers.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for damages suffered, medical expenses, loss of capacity to enjoy life, pre-judgment interest and costs for this action. He is represented by Richard D. Rusak and Keith S. Brais of Brais Brais Rusak in Miami.
