In the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County, Florida, plaintiffs Samantha Harris and Scott Harris have filed a lawsuit against defendants Colette Elizabeth Powell, William Shane Turner, and Geico General Insurance Company. The case, numbered 502024CA002888XXXAMB Div: AA, was filed on March 27, 2024.
The plaintiffs allege that defendant Powell operated a motor vehicle carelessly on October 18, 2023, causing an accident that resulted in permanent bodily injuries to Samantha Harris. The vehicle driven by Powell was reportedly entrusted to her by co-defendant Turner. The damages sought are more than $50,000 exclusive of interest and costs.
Additionally, the complaint alleges that Geico General Insurance Company is a foreign profit corporation authorized to conduct business in Palm Beach County. It also asserts that all conditions precedent to bring this cause of action have occurred or been satisfied.
The plaintiffs demand judgment for damages against defendant Powell exceeding the jurisdictional limits of the court. They also seek costs, interest and any further relief deemed just and proper by the court. A jury trial has been demanded on all issues triable.
